Sad story

We live in a really sad world. Now with the lock down, we have forgotten our weakest part of the society - kids.
I just happened to read a sad story in italian journal. I had tears in my eyes reading those lines. Sadness is still lingering in me. I am asking, in what world are we living in? Why we are governed by people who only care about money and economy?

Italian reporter Selvaggia Lucarelli wrote a heartbreaking story of a 17 year old boy, who was normal student at school. Had nice loving family and little brother. They lived in country house in Ancona. It seemed that all going well. He liked to go to school, he had friends there. He had good grades.
Then due to lockdown he was forced to study from home. One day teachers called to his parents saying that he has not logged in online class for 15 days. Parents had a discussion with him and he started to log in again.

The drama, unknown to all, was taking place where no one couldn't see: in the emotion of a 17 year old boy who did not want to disappoint anyone, who perhaps could not forgive a stumble or a smile less on the face of those who cared for him. M. had gone back to online lessons, had been questioned, had taken a bad grade. Then that decision that no one could have imagined: the night between 19 and 20 May he hung a rope from the beam of his bedroom where he slept with his 9-year-old brother and at 2:30 in the night he took his life. Thus, the little one of the family found him in the middle of the night.

Even for grown up the social distancing is hard, I cannot imagine this situation for kids. We are social beings, we need to see people face to face. This is how the nature has programmed us. We are now, due to covid, going against our nature.
I feel sad and angry at the same time. The governments open bars, restaurants, beauty salons... But schools must remain closed in some countries. WHY?
As some say, money matters more. Economy is the power.
