Short Story: "The Pirr"

Pirr lives in every home. He lives in our smallest room. He lives in our toilets. He is the smallest living being on our planet. At least he thinks so. Nobody knows Pirr lives in their toilets. He has a small kitchen and a bedroom. But one day someone put water in his home and he did not like this one bit. Although he was used to the water coming into his home he decided to move. Once he got out of his pot he started to look for his new home. But everything was different when he walked around people's homes. He couldn't make a new home for himself. He believed they couldn't see him because he was so tiny. But some people still saw him and they started screaming. So Pirr decided to return to his home, the toilet. Even though sometimes water flushed through his home, he found comfort in that nobody was screaming at him.

Book review: Umberto Eco The Name of The Rose

Umberto Eco is one of my favorite italian writers. First book I read long time ago in estonian and it was "The name of the rose" . I read it once again in Italian 13 years later. I remember that back then it was simple crime story in medieval times having 2 main characters Adso da Melk and Guglielmo da Baskerwille. Which I learnt recently, were inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson characters. I re-read it in italian and I must admit that language knowledge helped me to understand bit more of the story line. Maybe the fact that Latin part is not translated, makes it harder to read. If you do not know nothing of medieval times, again it is hard to understand what Eco was thinking. I was reading comments in goodreads and I found negative and positive, meaning that this book got emotions out of people, which I believe was the scope of Eco since the beginning. As he says, that author is an artist, the readers are interpreters of a story. Everyone ...

Short Story: "My cat" One quiet day, The Cat decided to catch a fly. But this fly did not want to be caught. The fly hid and flew so high that it could not be reached by The Cat. The Cat thought that if he left the fly for a while, the fly would forget that The Cat wants to catch him and fly lower. But the fly didn't believe The Cat would leave him alone. So he decided to continue flying higher. The Cat decided that he must do something. The fly must be caught quickly. He began to hunt higher and climbed up the cabinet. Then he dropped off all the things on the cabinet. The hostess came into the room and became very angry with The Cat. He brought the cat back to the kitchen so he wouldn't break things in the room. The Cat's anger rise further against the fly. He heard from the kitchen how a fly was flying freely around the room. The Cat decided to sneak out of the kitchen and went into the room.
