Reindeer dasher was a very beautiful elk. Sadly, Dasher thought that he was a cat. Santa Claus found Dasher living with a bunch of cats in the woods a couple of days ago. Cats were able to find food for themselves, but Dasher could not, so Dasher was very small and hungry. Santa Claus offered Dasher food. He ate and fell asleep immediately after eating.
When Dasher woke up, he felt unusually warm. He was no longer in the woods with cats who offered him warmth, but instead, he was in front of a chimney with Santa Claus. Dasher felt good and he started to burr as a cat. Santa Claus thought that his cat was in the room, but he finally realized it was reindeer Dasher!
Santa Claus became aware that Dasher thought he was a cat. Since he had spent the first few weeks with cats in the forest. Dasher was healed by Santa Claus, who took him to meet other reindeers.
Dasher hid himself in the corner and did not dare to move. He was shaking when others tried to approach him. But Dasher was afraid to take his own step.
Time passed and Dasher felt hungry. He felt a delicious smell of food but did not dare to take a step towards the place, where everyone else were eating.
Dasher planned to wait until everyone was asleep and only then go to eat. Finally, the last reindeer had fallen asleep. Reindeer, then sneaked silently out from the corner to the place where there was food and ate. He then fell asleep quietly.
Dasher woke up in the morning and he was very surprised and angry when he noted, that he is hungry again. He got even more upset when he saw that other reindeers are awake as well and they were eating altogether.
The time went on and hunger became more intense, but Dasher remained motionless.
Santa came to check on his reindeers and found Dasher hiding in the corner.
„Little one, what are you so afraid of? They are like you. They eat the same food as you. They behave the same. Why are you so afraid of them?’
Little reindeer was surprised to realize that he understood what Santa was telling him. The reason behind it, he later discovered living together with other reindeers and Santa was that Santa is able to talk with reindeers.
Little by little, Dasher approached to the others and started to eat. And for his amazement, he understood that he was exactly like the others – a reindeer.
